Anyone who travels knows that certain places get under your skin and Makrigialos was like that for us. We knew we were on to a good thing when, on our first ever day everybody said “Good morning”. Some, of course, said “Kalimera”. And that was it. Quite simply we had fallen under its magical spell, joining the community of faithful visitors who year after year come back to Makrigialos, simply not being able to resist its tug at their heartstrings… There must be something in the water we thought – or maybe it’s because it all comes from the heart of its people - an eclectic mix of locals, tourists and expats, who all have in common a deep love for this hidden gem.
